What TikTok likes are good for
On TikTok, the heart count is the first number a viewer sees on a video, right beside it as it plays. A video with 9 likes and 600 views reads as one people scrolled past. Lifting the hearts makes a good video look like it earned its place on the screen, which can be the nudge that makes a real viewer watch to the end.

Pick a video you are proud of and that already has some views. Likes on a video with 150 views and 10,000 hearts look impossible; keep the like count well below the view count.
